Key Pointers:
- Gigabyte's G27Q is a budget-friendly alternative to the more expensive FI27Q-P, offering a 1440p resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, and IPS panel at a significantly lower price point.
- The display delivers vibrant colors with 95% DCI-P3 coverage, similar to the higher-priced FI27Q-P.
- Despite Gigabyte's claims of a 1ms response time, the measured response time is closer to 7ms black to white and 17ms white to black, even with overdrive set to maximum.
- This discrepancy results in a noticeable amount of ghosting, although it may not be bothersome for all users.
- The G27Q offers aim stabilizer (backlight strobing) as an option to reduce ghosting, but it disables FreeSync.
- The display performs well for gaming, with a crisp and responsive feel thanks to the high refresh rate and resolution.
- The stand provides height and tilt adjustability but lacks swivel or rotation.
- The on-screen menu offers a range of customization options, including gaming settings, aim stabilizer, and black equalizer.
- For the price, the G27Q is a competitive option and offers features that make it suitable for both gaming and content creation.
- Gigabyte also offers a similar model, the M27Q, which includes a built-in KVM switch for managing multiple systems with one set of peripherals.
Today we have the Gigabyte G27QC which comes with a 27 inch IPS panel but you get it with a 2K resolution and its price is also very competitive. Let's see how this monitor is.

Let's see what you get inside the box. Inside the box, you will get the monitor and you don't have to buy the cables separately. You will get a power cable inside, you will get an HDMI cable and a display port cable. You will get the base plate along with the stand which has a good build quality. It is made of metal and plastic. You will get the monitor stand fitted inside the box.
First, let's look at the design of this monitor. It comes with a very sleek design. You will see thin bezels on both the top and bottom. The stand is also very sturdy and you get both height and tilt adjustments, but you don't get swivel adjustments. The build quality is good and even if you look at it aesthetically, it looks fine. You will see the Gigabyte logo at the bottom and as it is a gaming monitor, you will see 'Gamer' written on the stand. if you look at the design on the back side, you will get a glossy finish. On the sides, you will get some elements to give it a gaming touch. The stand also has Gigabyte branding. You will get a separate hole inside the stand for wire management. It supports VESA mount so if you want to mount it on the wall, you can mount it there. If you want to mount it on a monitor arm, you can do that too.
Now coming to the most important part, the display. You get an IPS display inside the G27QC which is a 27-inch display and it comes with a 2K resolution. So, you won't see pixelation. It comes with a 144Hz refresh rate and the colours look very vibrant. The images also look very clean and the text is also crisp. You get a 1ms response time inside it. It is not GTG but MPRT. Talking about GTG, GTG is the time taken to go from one shade of grey to another shade of grey. So, inside this, you will get a g2g of 4.5ms. Apart from gaming, if you want to do some colour accuracy related work inside this monitor, you can do photo editing or video editing at a casual level. You won't be able to do very professional work but it will work for you. This panel comes with an anti-reflection coating, so if there is any light coming directly from behind, it won't reflect that much. Talking about the display, you get 120% sRGB coverage and along with that, you get 92% DCI-P3 coverage. So, even if you see the colour accuracy, you will get it just right. So, it means that even though it is a gaming monitor, if you want to do some editing related work on it, you can do photo editing and video editing at a casual level. You won't be able to do professional-level work, but you can use it for your work. If you want to look at this monitor in terms of multimedia consumption, it will give you a very good experience because it is a 2K monitor and the text clarity is also good. As it is an IPS panel, the colours look very vibrant. The viewing angles are also very good and if you look at the display from the side, the colours won't get distorted. Talking about backlight bleeding, every unit is different but I didn't find this issue inside the monitor that I had.
Now let's look at the ports and connectivity of this monitor. What ports do you get inside it? Inside the monitor, you get an HDMI 2.4 port on the back side, you get an audio jack and along with that, you will get a USB 3.2 port. So, you can connect multiple devices to it like gaming consoles, PC peripherals, etc. inside it.
Now let's talk about the gaming experience. Inside this, you get a 1ms response time. It is not GTG. So, you will get motion blur inside it, but even then, if you play competitive games like FPS games, you will like it very much. Inside this monitor, you get support for Adaptive Sync. So, you won't get any issues related to tearing and stuttering. So, because of the high refresh rate and low response time, you will be able to game very well on it. If you do competitive gaming, you will be able to do that very well. It is a gaming monitor but the colours look very good inside it. Now let's look at its OSD controls and settings. To control its OSD, you will get a separate joystick which is given at the back of the monitor. You will press it and a menu will appear. From there you can select the game settings. When you go to game settings, you will be given a lot of game presets and you will also be given options to control the display. Here you will get Aim Stabilizer and Black Equalizer. The Black Equalizer will help you if you are gaming in dark environments. You will get options in picture mode. Inside it, you will get gaming presets. From here, you can also customise the presets according to your needs. If you want to change the response time inside it, you will get three options. I would recommend you to keep it on balance. It means that if you keep it on speed and drive, you will see very less ghosting issues. This issue is not that much in this monitor. Inside it, you will get an option for FreeSync. You can enable it by going to the settings. You will get it in software control. So, you can go to the Gigabyte website, download it and install it. If you play games, you can keep it on Balance. So, you can set it from there.
Now let's look at its price. You will get it for under ₹25,000. I will give you a link in the description. You can check it out from there. It comes in a good price range and it offers a lot inside it, but its HDR performance is a bit average. If you talk about its deep blacks and brightness as well as highlights, you won't like it that much. Inside this monitor, you get a brightness of 350 nits. So, if you are sitting in a dark environment or even in a bright environment, you won't face any problems. It comes in a good price range and if you are getting a 2K resolution along with that, and you are also getting good colour accuracy, then it is a very good thing for you. So, this is the Gigabyte G27QC. This monitor gives you a very good gaming experience. Inside it, you get a 144Hz refresh rate but you can overclock it to 165Hz. Along with that, you get a low response time, so your gaming experience becomes even better. Its price range is also very good and if you look at the build quality, it is also good. You get some adjustments inside the stand which is a plus point. So, this was our review. What did you think about this review? Tell us in the comments section.
